Aussie Hill's Checkmate

ARI# 31232302   D.O.B. 9/5/2008

Huacaya, Herdsire (Male), Proven | White

Full Peruvian
Sire: American Made Peruvian Sabre | ARI# 836999  | White
Dam: Tuition Hope | ARI# 1036503  | Light Fawn

Checkmate is a sweet-tempered, full Peruvian, compact male with amazing genetics and a show record that speaks for itself. Checkmate has a solid frame, very nice head, and great fleece coverage. His first cria, "The Rook", was evaluated by Wade Gease who commented on his "very strong fleece traits." Rook has exceptional merino fleece with above average fineness, density, crimp, brightness, and handle. The Rook also has a beautiful head and top knot.

Checkmate's sire, the award winning "American Made Peruvian Sabre" from Sunset Ridge, is a Reserve Champion (2006). Judge Mike Safely commented that "for a male to maintain this quality of fleece at this age is truly extraordinary. I would put him on top of every female I own!" American Made Peruvian Sabre also boasts a skin biopsy result of 63.5 follicles per sq mm with an AFD of 23.8 at 6.5 years old! The average density biopsy in huacayas is 40.25 follicles/sq mm according to Dr. Norm Evans biopsy testing (2008).

Checkmate's dam, "Tuition Hope" is also something special. Hope has an impressive show record and won a championship at her first show at only 7 months old! She has an outstanding pedigree including PPPeruvian Royal Fawn, Black Peruvian Royal Forest, and MFI Peruvian Black Mesquite. Hope is a light fawn dam with vicuna markings and a high frequency merino fleece style. She still displays visible crimp at 7 years old! She has great density and luster to her fleece; a skin biopsy revealed 47 follicles/sq mm and and S/P ratio of 10.8:1. Tuition Hope has amazing cria with 100% of her offspring having placed in shows.
